Year 11 students complete Level 1 mathematics.

1A (Academic) mathematics

The top academic course designed for students who will continue mathematics to Level 2A

1S (Standard) mathematics

This covers much the same content as 1A but there is more emphasis on 'Achieve' and 'Merit' questions. 1S is designed for students who do not have a strength in Algebra

1P (Preparation) mathematics

This provides a general level of study in mathematics and to prepare students for continued study.

1F (Foundation) mathematics

This aims to give students an idea of where mathematics can be of use to then in understanding the world around them. It is also hoped that students will learn to enjoy their use of mathematics.

 

 

 Year 12 students complete Level 2 mathematics.

2A (Academic) mathematics

This is the top academic course designed for students who will continue mathematics to Level 3

2S (Standard) mathematics

This covers much the same content as 2A but there is more emphasis on 'Achieve' and 'Merit' questions. This course provides a general level of study in Mathematics and prepare students for Mathematics at higher levels.

2P (Preparation) mathematics

This provides is to provide students with knowledge of the use of mathematics in the world around them. It is also hoped that students will feel confident with, and enjoy using mathematics in their daily lives.

 

 

Level 3 mathematics.

3A Calculus (Academic) mathematics

This is the top academic course designed for students who are preparing for study at tertiary level.

3A Statistics (Academic) mathematics

prepare students for study of mathematics beyond secondary level. Statistics has many applications and is a requirement for many tertiary courses.

3S (Standard) mathematics

covers the same internally assessed content as 3A Statistics, and a range of other internal assessments. It is designed for students not continuing with mathematics beyond Level 3 but wish to gain credits at Level 3
